Discovery and Explorer Students place at the National Garden Clubs art competition.
Every year students at Discovery and Explorer Elementary Schools create and complete in the annual Smokey Bear/Woodsy Owl poster competition which is sponsored locally by the Red Cedar Garden Club. This year, second grader Madeline S. achieved first place at the local, state, and regional levels and a 2nd place at the national level from her poster for Woodsy Owl. Additionally, 4th and 5th grade students were able to compete in a Recycled Sculpture competition which led to a national honorable mention for 4th grader Ellie G. She achieved first place finishes at the local, state, and regional levels. Congratulations to our national awardees. Additionally, this competition is sponsored by the National Garden Clubs Inc.
