After reading The Castle in the Attic, 4th grade students sketched ideas for several group murals. The students painted on the windows throughout Explorer which tell the story of William and his journey through this fiction adventure.
Doodle for Google competition has been released. Find information at doodle4google.com. This year's theme is "When I grow up, I hope..." Students can also pick up an entry from the Art Studio. There will be a group mailing of entries in March with a deadline of WEDNESDAY, MARCH 6th. See attachment letter below for more information.
On January 10th, families and students gathered at the Discovery Cafeteria to welcome the follow students as this year's winners of the Smokey Bear and Woodsy Owl Poster Winners. Over 200 students entered this year and there were 4 places for each grade level. There was also recognition for the Sculpture Winners which as established this year for 4th and 5th graders.
Great News...2nd Grader Madeline S's poster was awarded 1st in the State and will move onto Regionals along with 4th Grader Ellie G's sculpture was awarded 1st in the State and will also move onto Regionals. Other Exciting State News: 1st Grader Hadley E placed 3rd in the state 3rd Grader Faye H placed 2nd in the state 4th Grader Addisen H placed 2nd in the state 5th Grader Olivia S placed 2nd in the state 5th Grader Kate P placed 2nd in the state with her sculpture What a great accomplishment for all these young artists! |
